MultiPortal 1.1.1 Release Candidate Now Live

Our first-ever Release Candidate is now available, marking an important milestone in how we deliver updates to MultiPortal.

Over the past few months, we’ve received feedback from Service Providers, Resellers, and community members requesting earlier access to upcoming features, along with more opportunities to test changes before they land in production.

Moving to Staged Releases

To address this, we’re implementing a staged release process: Alpha → Closed Beta → Release Candidate → Production. Our goal is to identify issues earlier, improve quality, and give the community a chance to shape each release before it becomes generally available.

What’s in 1.1.1-rc.1?

This Release Candidate includes several notable additions and improvements:

  • Reseller Quota Feature – Manage and enforce limits for reseller accounts
  • VM Migration – Move VMs between Virtual Data Centers
  • Storage Migration – Migrate storage between policies
  • Tenant Impersonation – Access tenant views for troubleshooting and support
  • Networking Improvements – Enhanced network handling and usage calculations
  • Bug Fixes – Resolved issues affecting cloning, templates, backups, and HA sync
  • API Enhancements – New endpoints for reseller quota management

Installation

The Release Candidate requires Ubuntu 24.04 or Debian 12. To install, run:

curl -sSL https://downloads.multiportal.io/install-rc.sh | sudo bash

For additional installation options and configuration details, please refer to our wiki documentation.

Important Caveats

Before installing, please note the following:

  • Not for production – RC builds are not suitable for production environments
  • Fresh installs only – Existing installations cannot upgrade to RC versions
  • No license required – RC builds do not require a license key
  • Limited support – Official support is not provided for RC releases
  • Expiration – The RC will expire approximately one month after the final 1.1.1 release
