MultiPortal at Dutch Proxmox Day 2026
VMware migration and software-defined storage led the agenda as European service providers met in Ede to discuss running Proxmox in production.

MultiPortal attended Dutch Proxmox Day 2026 in Ede, the Netherlands, on 24 September to meet with customers and to learn how other businesses are using Proxmox. Hosted by Proxmox Gold Partner Tuxis, the event drew approximately 200 to 300 attendees from the European cloud, hosting and infrastructure market. VMware migration was among the most widely discussed topics of the day.
MultiPortal was represented by CEO Bardia Khalilifar and Pre-sales Engineer Florin Cazacu, who met with businesses face to face throughout the day to represent the company and show what MultiPortal can do. During the breakout sessions, most of their conversations centred on MultiPortal Core and MultiPortal Migrator, particularly how businesses can move virtual machines off VMware with less disruption and shorter cutover times.
The discussions reflected a clear change in how service providers view migration. For many of the businesses MultiPortal spoke with, moving away from VMware is now an operational requirement they are working through today, and it is no longer something they are planning for a later date.
“We went to Ede to meet our customers and to hear first-hand how other businesses are running Proxmox. Most of the service providers we spoke with are either migrating from VMware now or have a timeline to do so, and their questions were practical ones about cutover times, downtime and customer impact,” said Bardia Khalilifar, CEO of MultiPortal.
MultiPortal Core gives service providers, resellers and enterprise IT teams multi-tenant, self-service management of their Proxmox environments. MultiPortal Migrator is designed to simplify the migration of virtual machines from VMware to Proxmox through a straightforward process, while significantly reducing service interruption during cutover.
Presenters at the event included teams from Vodafone Germany, Cyllene in France, Thomas-Krenn in Germany and StorPool in Bulgaria, along with other technology companies. Speakers shared how they deploy, manage and scale Proxmox in production, with practical insights into architecture, operations, storage and infrastructure management, as well as their future plans for the platform. Software-defined storage was a recurring topic throughout the day, with several businesses describing it as a key part of their future infrastructure design.
Meeting customers face to face was one of the main reasons for attending, and the team spent time with existing customer EPACT from Belgium, including members of its wider team, to discuss current requirements and future opportunities.
The team also met existing customer e-Quest from the Netherlands and held productive discussions with Vancis, also based in the Netherlands.
The event pointed to the continued growth of the Proxmox ecosystem and increasing demand for tools that help businesses operate, manage and migrate infrastructure at scale. For MultiPortal, the conversations provided further validation of its product direction across infrastructure management, migration and service-provider use cases.
MultiPortal will continue the conversations started at the event with customers, partners and prospective users across Europe.
